Maritime scientist, political and social scientist, worked as policy officer, port business analyst and is specialised in Inland Navigation and data analyses. Strong focus upon role of policy next to welfare economic analyses. Is main author of indicator books in freight transport in Flanders and publications concerning innovation in inland navigation such as alternative fuels, automation, digital applications and small waterways reactivation. Worked as an European expert for the Belgian delegation in creating the CESNI QP standards and the EU directive concerning crew requirements and was also vice president of the regional examination commission for IWT crews. Currently finishing a Phd in inland navigation innovation which included a research stage in Strasbourg.
