Jeroen Van Laer is part-time professor and a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Antwerp. Since February 2006 he is a member of the M²P research group. His current research interest concern social movements, collective action mobilization and social media. For three years he explored the impact of new communication technologies on protest participation and social movement organizations (see INTERMOB project). On 17 June 2011 he defended is PhD on protest participation, participant's motivation and mobilization dynamics (see Publications > Phd). He teaches a seminar on new media and politics in the Master Political Communication.
