Marc Pirenne is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in the transport and logistics world.
He has worked within all subsectors from maritime and stevedoring to air express. His career has been dedicated to providing logistics solutions to customers across the world.
His career in the transportation world began in 1981 and has progressed through various managerial and commercial positions in the forwarding, express, logistics and stevedoring world.
After occupying expatriate functions in Africa in the eighties, he was Managing Director of AMI , the forwarding group of companies with the Belgian CMB group. Subsequently he worked for 11 years with DHL. He was closely involved in international business development and the integration of the various entities of the larger DHL group into Deutsche Post across the world.
For Euroports a pan-European stevedore and port operator he has been CEO for the Belgian and French operations.He integrated different family owned companies into one port operator with 11 terminals in Belgium ,France and China (including inland terminals).
He is guest lecturer with the Department of Transport and Regional Economics at the University of Antwerp , C-MAT and APEC.
He is responsible for industrial relation at the C-MAT Centre for Maritime and Air Transport Management at the University of Antwerp.
He holds directorships in professional organisations and private companies.
Marc holds a master of Applied Economics and followed several additional trainings at Insead Fontainebleau.
