Mariano Mastrogiorgio is Assistant Professor at IE University. He is an affiliated external member of the Antwerp Centre of Evolutionary Demography (ACED), where he spent one year as a post-doctoral researcher.
He holds a PhD in Business Administration and Quantitative Methods from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He was visiting researcher at New York University Stern School of Business, Department of Management and Organizations. He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration and Quantitative Methods from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and a Master of Science in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University. He also holds a Bachelor in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University.
His research lies in the broad areas of innovation and strategy, at the intersection of technology evolution studies, complexity economics and quantitative patent analysis. His work has been presented in international conferences such as the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society, the Druid, the Informs. Part of his work has been published in top journals such as Organization Science, Research Policy and Industrial and Corporate Change.
