Short description: Lunch seminar by Bart Eeckhout

Bart Eeckhout will offer a fresh look at the study of literary representations of the city with a particular focus on an encyclopedic entry on the urban novel that he co-authored several years ago. Next, to give a sense of the kind of investigations currently being undertaken in the field, he will offer a brief overview of the materials to be found in four recent installments of the Cambridge Companionseries: one about the study of urban literature in general and three about specific cities (New York, London, Paris). To look into the future, finally, he will explain the literary plans that are currently germinating in the context of USI and that will probably result in a lecture series next year.
