The CED Research Group organizes an interdisciplinary intensive course that provides Doctoral and advanced Master students in the human and social sciences with in-depth and advanced training in gender+ studies.

Day 1 – Monday 28/09 9:30-10:00 coffee and registration

  • 10:00-11:30 Lecture 1 – Theorizing the social and political dynamics of opposition to gender equality in Europe (Mieke Verloo, Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen)
  • 11:30-11:45 coffee break
  • 11:45-13:15 Lecture 2 – The Cunning of Resilience. Gendered Subjects in Times of Neoliberalism (Sarah Bracke, Vrije Universiteit Brussel)
  • 13:15-14:30 lunch
  • 14:30-17:00 Masterclass 1 (Joz Motmans, Universiteit Antwerpen and Universitair Ziekenhuis Gent) and Masterclass 2 (Nadia Fadil, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven)

Day 2 – Tuesday 29/09

  • 09:30-11:00 Lecture 3 – Counter dynamics to the gender equality project: insights from social movement theory (Conny Roggeband, Universiteit van Amsterdam)
  • 11:00-11:30 coffee break
  • 11:30-13:00 Lecture 4 – From the hallways of the Vatican to the streets of Madrid, Paris and Warsaw: "Gender Ideology" in motion (David Paternotte, Université libre Bruxelles)
  • 13:00-14:30 lunch 14:30-17:00: Masterclass 3 (Nella van den Brandt, Universiteit Gent) and Masterclass 4 (Henk de Smaele, Universiteit Antwerpen)
