Pioneering NGO transformation to Social Enterprise in Indonesia: The experience of TORAJAMELO in working with traditional women weavers' communities

Ms. Lanny Jahauri (alumna Globalisation and Development 2010-11) will present her work as program manager for TRAJAMELO, a distinguished social enterprise model company-cum-foundation that works with marginalized rural women weaver artisans Indonesia.

The organization's objective is to create a more inclusive and sustainable economy for poor women in Indonesia, particularly traditional weavers, and to rejuvenate Indonesian indigenous hand-woven cloth.

The program pillar is consists of women economic empowerment,  cultural preservation & rejuvenation, and youth participation.

Lanny Jahauri shares with us the story of her journey, looking for ways to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged communities.
