Hydrodynamic heat flow in 2D

The conduction of heat in two dimensions displays a wealth of fascinating physics of key relevance to the scientific fundamental understanding and technological applications of graphene and related materials. Recent studies of thermal transport at the nanoscale have demonstrated the breakdown of Fourier’s law through observations of ballistic and hydrodynamic phonon transport near room temperature. In this seminar, I will talk about how the hydrodynamic regime can be studied using a microscopic anharmonic crystal potential and a series of singular nonequilibrium Green's functions.
