The University of Antwerp (UAntwerp), in cooperation with the Coordinating for life project (ERC, UU), Corn and the Posthumus institute are organising a workshop on Shocks and Hazards in History: Vulnerability and Resilience on the 27th and 28th of November 2017. Scholars from different disciplines are brought together to discuss the definition and pitfalls of such  complex concepts, and their potential for the field of history in general and disaster history in particular on the first day of the workshop. The second day will revolve around specific cases of resilience and vulnerability: peasant and urban resilience throughout the ages.
