Short description: Lecture by Jorge Bodanzky

About the lecture
Jorge Bodanzky was born in São Paulo. Graduated in cinema from Hochschule für Gestaltung Ulm, Germany, he began his career as a photographer, working in several press agencies, including the magazine Realidade and the newspaper Jornal da Tarde. Bodanzky made his directorial debut in 1974 with the feature film 'Iracema, uma transa amazônica' (co-directed by Orlando Senna).

This fictional documentary, one of the most awarded Brazilian films of the decade on national and international festivals, such as the 'La Semaine de la Critique Cannes', paved the way for a solid career that includes more than 10 feature films and dozens of documentaries for Brazilian television, German, French and Italian as a director, photographer and producer. Currently Bodanzky works on a documentary series about the Transamazônica highway.

This event is an initiative by Vijai Patchineelam, with assistance by Juliana Froehlich and Gustavo Racy.
