We show that there is coexistence of intraband and interband pair formation in a two-band superconductor. Both pairing mechanisms compete for the available quantum states in the energy window where the interaction is sizeable and present a higher Tc than systems without crosspairing. There are two regimes of coexistence: intraband dominated and interband dominated regime. These two regimes are delimited by a gapless state which is found as a gap node in many iron based superconductors. We also obtain the spectral features of the density and gap ngerprints for the crossparing in monolayer FeSe.
