About the lecture
Berlin of the interwar years was a creative place to be, not only for Germans but for the many Arabs, Persians, and Indians who flocked to this city as well.
Throughout the Muslim world, Germans were considered “friends of Islam” and Berlin a platform outside the Empire where one could conclude such friendships, gather European knowledge and establish business networks.
In this lecture, Gerdien Jonker will introduce some of the actors, recount how they met, and recapitulate the way (-s) in which they continued together.
