Recent realization of two-dimensional ferromagnetism urges easy-applicable and reliable theoretical methodology to estimate the magnetic properties.
The four-state methodology (4SM) which is based on energy-mapping on Heisenberg spin Hamiltonian using density functional theory calculations stands out as a powerful one for the estimation of macroscopic magnetic parameters such as anti-symmetric magnetic exchange so called Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI).
In my talk I will give basics of 4SM with recently examples from the literature. Moreover, I will presents our recent work on anti-ferromagnetic atomic-thick Fe2O3.
