Funding for South Initiative on child marriages in Tanzania

Seraphina Bakta from Mzumbe University and Gamze Erdem Türkelli and Wouter Vandenhole, both members of the University of Antwerp’s Law and Development Research Group, secured funding from VLIR-UOS for their South Initiative “A human rights-based approach to health challenges associated with child marriages in Tanzania”. South Initiatives run for two years and provide seed funding for new partnerships between academics in Flanders and the South.

VLIR-UOS is a network of universities and university colleges in Flanders (Belgium) and supports partnerships between this network and the South, looking for innovative responses to global and local challenges.
