3. Course contents *

This course is focused on the physiology of angiosperms. Teaching is partially theoretical. Great emphasis lays on practical courses. These are organised in such a way that they are not only instructive for the theoretical course but also form the basis of practical handling and experimental approach of scientific problems.

- Basic functions
* Cells and water
* Mineral nutrition
* Energy supply
* N and S cycle
* Transport and reserves

- Limitation (membranes outside and inside the cell)
- Long distance transport
- Sensitivity and reception
- Coordination (plants are multicellar)
- Symplast, apoplast, hormones, photoreceptors
- Meristems and primary and secondary growth (also anatomy)
- Defence
- Vegetative and sexual reproduction
