Part 1: Focus on structure and evolution of stars - the physics of stars (capita selecta)
- possibly one class will be given by a guest lecturer (in English)
Part 2: Analysis of astronomical data (time series) - Fourier analysis
Part 3: Selected topics in current astrophysics
1. You obtain data of a variable star to be analyzed and discussed. You write a short report on this.
2. Presentation: choose a topic within state-of-the-art astrophysics and present an overview in a ~5-page document. Present it to your fellow students (10-15 minute presentation, 5-10 minutes for questions and discussion)
These projects are carried out individually or in groups of two. This will be discussed in the first classes.
