3. Course contents *

 

The first part of the course treats the elementary particles and their interactions.  A second part treats different aspects of nuclear physics.

Part 1: Particle Physics

Symmetries and conservation laws; quark struture of hadrons; strong interactions; weak interactions; electronweak unification

Part 2: Nuclear Physics

Properties of nuclei; shell model; alfa decays and fission; excited nuclei; nuclear reactions, fission and fusion; radio activity and life
