3. Course contents *

Following organ(systems) are dealt with: the cardiovascular system, the respiratory system, the urinary system, the gastro-intestinal system and the endocrine system. During practical exercises, we illustrate physiological aspects of arterial blood pressure, the electrocardiogram, the cardiac cycle, lung ventilation and lung volumes and the concentrating/diluting function of the kidney.

Attendance to the practical courses and excursions is compulsory. Absence must be reported within 24 hours to the student administration.                                         

(FBD, http: //uahost.uantwerpen.be/helpdesk/fbd/), the teacher and the assistant and can only be justified by a valid certificate of absence (e.g. sick note, obituary, ... ( cfr OER legitimate absence) ) . This evidence of absence should be given on the first day of the return to the student administration (CDE, building S, 1st floor). A scan or copy must be sent to the teacher and assistant. With a valid certificate of absence the student may /must catch up the practical training. After the catch up, at least 80 % of the practical training must be finished to be exempted from the practical course and to participate in the practical course exam. A notification of absence within 24 hours (see above) makes it possible to look for (practical) achievable overtaking opportunities.

Unjustified absence at one or more practical trainings / excursions can automatically lead to the mention ‘absent ' for the entire practical training and to the exclusion of the practical course exam .
