3. Course contents *

During his/her profession a pharmacist comes in contact with different aspects of microbiology, like infections, antibiotics, biocides and vaccines. The fundamentals for this are set during the course Pharmaceutical Microbiology.
The course is divided in different parts:
Part 1: Brief history of microbiology
Part 2: Cell structure and function
Part 3: Bacterial genetics
Part 4: Metabolism and growth
Part 5: Characterisation and classification of bacteria
Part 6: Mycology
Part 7: Virology and cell cultures
Part 8: Controlling microbial growth
