3. Course contents *

This course builds further on the final competences, which are acquired during the prior courses “design” (dwelling, culture, environment). Also the final competences of these courses will be questioned during this assignment.

The construction of space is the central to this course. Students define the demarcation and the zoning of areas by designing and dimensioning structures. They examine/design the relation between the structure, the space and the image of the building. They select and combine materials and shape the architectural elements and building knots. Thereby, they handle the physical qualities of the space by applying an adequate geometry, material, structure and dimension, while being aware of the society in transition.
