3. Course contents *

In a first part, the structure, properties and usage of the following materials are presented: mortar, concrete, plaster, lime, dimension stone, brick, glass, metals, timber, plastics, glues and sealants, wooden materials and insulation.

In a second part, the student gets insight in the way heritage objects (paintings, statues,...) are constructed, which materials are applied  en how these materials were used in the past.
