3. Course contents *

This course focuses on the user and his/her behavior. The behavior is explained from psychology (perception, cognition (thinking, memory), consciousness and attention, emotion and motivation, learning and development) and also the interaction product-user-environment is scrutinized. Tools (exploration) are introduced and trained to identify the relevant design aspects of behavior. During this design project (creation) innovation is pursued by a focus on the experience - rather than merely on the performance, technical materialization or appearance. User experience can be defined as the sum of emotions experienced by consumers in the overall cycle of purchase, use and disposal of a product. Besides exploration and creation, verification is also taken into account: both a usability test (detecting problems in the interaction between user and product) and a concept test (the extent to which a product meets the expectations of customers and users ) are trained.
