3. Course contents *

This course unit aims at providing insights in anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the nerve system and senses. Basic concepts of pathology with an emphasis on modern pathophysiological insights will be discussed, for instance Parkinson’s disease, dementia, multiple sclerosis, meningitis. In another part of this course unit we will study the clinical relevance of neurobiology and a number of important psychiatric pathologies such as psychotic diseases, mood- and anxiety disorders, eat- and sleep disorders,.. In the practical classes, students will learn the functional importance of the anatomical aspects of the nerve system and senses.
