3. Course contents *

In this course the nature of the microbial world will be discussed including eubacteria, archae and eucaryotic microorganisms. In particular attention will be paid to: microbial metabolism, microbial growth and the effect of the environment on microbial growth, the classification and phylogeny of bacteria, epidemiology and mechanisms of pathogenicity and the relation between structure and function in procaryotic cells.
