3. Course contents *

UK: Students will receive information about the most important aspects of Anglo-Saxon cultures: political structures, educational structures, history, current affairs, etc. Information for the exam is based on class material (mainly Word and Powerpoint files) and British newspapers. Through the latter students acquire a solid sense of current affairs.

US: This part of the course covers the most important events and developments in the history of America since the 17th century. It focuses on immigration, religion, political and legal structures and institutions. Special attention is paid to the history of civil rights and its relation to the myth of America.
