Beginning level of proficiency in English for this course: B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. The language of instruction in all classes related to this course is English. This means that both the language of instruction and the language for communication in class (discussions, feedback, presentation, etc.) and in e-mail correspondence is standard, present-day English. English is the language of use as well when you meet lecturers elsewhere on campus.

UK: Students are able to follow and understand an exposition (in English) on communication in English and cultural topics, possibly after preparing the topic at home. Students are able to express themselves relatively fluently in standard, present-day English.
