3. Course contents *

The research topic covers the changing relationship between human and object. You will examine the implicit and explicit needs of humans with regard to an object and how the object might influence human behavior. Following questions will arise :

How do the needs and wishes of human beings define the parameters to design an object ?

How does an object determines its own functional use and perception ?

In this case study, we zoom on basic notions such as scale, usage and application(s). You learn to deal with key notions such as formability study and spatial composition with a clear focus on functional orientation and positioning in connection with human dimensions. Measuring and identifying the contents will serve as starting point. Materialization and spaciousness will be translated into scaled drawings and scale models.
