3. Course contents *

After an introduction on biological evolution, the course presents an overview of the major body plans of animals, focusing on the relation between form and functions and the big evolutionary steps leading to them. The diversity is illustrated with many examples of medical or veterinary importance. 

During the theoretical and practical course various organ systems are 'dissected': gastrointestinal system, respiratory system, immune system, cardiovascular system, urogenital system, integumentum.
