This subject is a continuation of Portugees: Grammatica 1 and Portugees: Taalbeheersing. We start of with a thorough revision of the conjugation of the verbs. We then draw attention to themes which can cause dificulties for Dutch-speaking students, especially when translating from or to Dutch, such as the differences between the use of the pretérito perfeito and the pretérito imperfeito and between the indicativo and conjuntivo. Furthermore, all tenses of the indicativo and conjuntivo will be throughly discussed, with specific attention going to the use of the conjuntivo in dependent clauses. The final chapters of grammar will be dedicated to the use of the infinitivo pessoal and impessoal, the gerúndio en perífrases verbais.
For Language Proficiency (Taalbeheersing) we will make use of the book Português XXI, level 3. The student will have to demonstrate his/her writing and speaking skills through written exercises and presentations.
In order to improve vocabulary, students are expected to develop a glossary of their own and weekly present a theme in class.
Finally, discussions will be held in class about current affairs/news, with special attention given to the Portuguese-speaking world. Weekly active participation is an absolute must.
