The course consists of two parts:

Part 1 Valuations (Charles Indekeu) This section deepens the students knowledge on various heritage values. The difference between the values in various cultures present at various time points will be discussed. The divergence in values has an effect on the decision-making regarding  methods of conservation-restoration treatments etc. Therefore, the student gets acquainted with various decision models used within the C / R sector, but he also gets insight into conservation related disciplines.

Part 2, Project Design (Kristel De Vis): The student gets to know various evaluation systems of materials and techniques (benchmarking, ...) and will be confronted with the complexety of a wharf schedule.
