3. Course contents *

This basic course contains two complementary parts. Part one concerns the general principles of the production of farm animals. Part two focuses on the principles of slaughter, distribution and the production of meat and products. Both parts provide the basic but specific knowledge necessary for veterinarians to participate in the domain of the veterinary public health. Finally, information will be provided on all different food products (both from meat and plant related ingredients) and on the importance of animal welfare in the food chain.
