At the start of this course the student should have acquired the following competences:
- competences corresponding the final attainment level of secondary school

- general knowledge of the use of a PC and the Internet
general notion of the basic concepts of
Develop an understanding of Descartes's terminology; reconstruction of his arguments, evaluation of his arguments; understand the arguments of each Meditation and study of particulart obejctions and replies; grasp the argument of the Meditations as a whole and learn to articulate his philosophical account; situate Descartes' view in early modern philosophy.

Sudents need to follow or have followed the course Historical overview of modern and contemporary philosophy. If this is not the case, an extra reading assignment is mandatory.
Average English competence is sufficient for this course.
