Starting from individually assigned case studies, the student is stimulated to conduct a research concerning the wider context of his/her study object. Who was the client for this object? Why was there a need for such an object at that particular at that time and place? Questions like these steer the student in defining a fitting research question and appropriate methodology. In this course the student will also be introduced to concepts and terminologies from the sister disciplines, like the art history, art science, cultural science, cultural history, etc.
