The International Design Workshop week is an event of workshops and lectures on a socially relevant theme. 'ReACT by design' is the central theme for the next years. During IDW, students are challenged to step out of their comfort zone and adopt a critical attitude towards prevailing visions in the domain. The conceptual and creative capacity of the student is developed from a work process that differs radically from the regular courses in both space and time, methodology and perspective. Several workshops are organized by national and international guest teachers who take a distinct position within the chosen theme. On the basis of an abstract, the student chooses one of the workshops and commits himself to intensive research and design in groups for a week. Students work on continuous output throughout the week (instant publishing) and a product or project exhibited at the closing event.
