At first, the principal nutrients will be discussed one by one. Chemical structure, biochemical and physiological functions, occurrence and interactions between different nutrients will be discussed. At the same time we will go through the general feeding requirements of the different animals. General nutrient characteristics of the most common feed ingredients will be discussed in the chapter on feed ingredients.
