The student developed: (1) insight in the historical evolution of the utopian ideas in architecture and urbanism, (2) a familiarity with the design practice of public spaces, cities and landscapes by means of historical and current cases, and (3) a conceptual framework that serves as an introduction to the current debate about city making. (in connection with core competence B1 & B3 & B6)
The student can place the historical and contemporary urban spaces, cities and landscapes in a broader historical, architectural and urban context. (in connection with core competence B2 & B4)
The student is able to explain basic concepts and theories used in the field of urban history.
