The Company is the collective name for all activities in the four years of study in which we develop competencies for entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship (= show entrepreneurial spirit within a company). In the third year, we want groups of students to set up an entrepreneurial project. We work with one of the many local or international competition formats in which students develop a (technical) product, set up a business structure in order to sell this product and finally achieve a financially profitable result.
In the first and second year, we are preparing this project. The first year is aimed at collecting ideas and insights into essential management topics. In the second year the aspects customer, price and market are covered. As a result, we are reducing the number of potential ideas from the first year. The choice is further limited to 5-10 projects to get their realization in the third year. In parallel lectures, practical sessions and practical exercises are offered. The working of a company is explained as well as project management, marketing, sales, and costing. Also, networking, using social media are embedded in the curriculum.
It is not our intention that all graduating students become entrepreneurs, but that they get a good picture of the relationship between the different parts of a business and are well prepared to take the step to entrepreneurship if they so wish.
