English Proficiency1  (EP1)- Academic Literacy
This academic literacy course called EP1 is designed to introduce the basic principles and conventions of reading and writing in an academic context. An 'academic context' here refers to university—an environment dedicated to higher learning. This environment has specific expectations and conventions for reading and writing; this course aims to help its users meet them. The course will show you how information can be processed and how this information and your own opinions can be coherently presented to an academic audience. The approach is reading-based writing.
Contact sessions take place in the first term (before the first exams and your first 'serious' writing assignments) and are highly recommended because you will sit a test in every session.
