3. Course contents *

EP3 is the writing-through-reading component of English Proficiency. It takes language awareness raising as its starting point.

On the basis of writing assignments, which will be individually corrected, you will gain theoretical insights and train your writing skills online. All materials can be found on a dedicated learning space where every exercise is provided with corrections, sample solutions, and extensive feedback (which you first can see after you have done the exercise).

In the contact sessions you will receive general feedback and work on improving your assignments. At the end of every contact session you formulate a take-home message and upload it on Blackboard.

The course consists of weekly contact sessions, autonomous/self-directed work on theory and practice, and is being supported through tutorals and an active learning community.

English Proficiency 1-5 focus on reading, writing and spoken skills (inclusive pronunciation) and encompasses general as well as academic English. Every component will represent the workload for 3 credits and lasts one term. Every course is evaluated in its own right.
