The theoretical part of the course deals with the most important aspects of the morphology and syntax of the simple and compound sentence.
A first series of lessons covers the morphology and the basic syntax of the verb: conjugation of the verbs in all forms and all time, the auxiliary verb, the personal and relative pronouns, the "accord of du participe passé" ...
Afterwards, the morphological aspects of the noun, the adjective and the adverb are discussed.
Afterwards we will explore the important syntactic aspects of the simple sentence : the verb structures, the pronouns, the negative and interrogative sentence.
Finally, we will cover the syntactic aspects of the compound sentence and see how to express comparison, hypothesis, consequence, goal, time, reason ... in french.
For the exercises-part, the students prepare some exercises at home related to the chapter we have seen the week before in the theory-part. These exercises are then corrected and commented in the classroom.
Students can find additional exercises in their syllabus. Those will not be corrected in the classroom. The students can do these additional exercises according to their personal rhythm and download the anwers via Blackboard.
