3. Course contents *

This course introduces the life and major works of Geoffrey Chaucer, arguably the most important and influential medieval author in English. Students are advised to take the class ‘Introduction to the Study of Literature in English’ (1103FLWTLE) before taking this class. In this class, students will study both the General Prologue to the Canterbury Tales as well as three of the tales themselves in depth, as well as excerpts from Troilus and Criseyde and the The Parlement of Foules.
