3. Course contents *

The course has three building blocks and a number of extensions.

Building blocks

  1. Short term analysis: The goods markets; Financial markets; IS-LM model
  2. Midterm analysis: the labour market; Phillips curve; inflation
  3. Long term analysis: Growth; Technological progress

Extensions

  1. The role of expectations in Financial markets; Consumption; Investments
  2. The open economy: goodmarkts; financial markets; exchange range (regimes)
  3. Pathologies: the financial-economic crisis; Public debt
  4. The European economic and monetary integration

The analysis of the theoretical models is illustrated and challenged with examples in the recent economic history and the international topicality.
