3. Course contents *

During the course, students acquire the necessary skills to enable them to refer correctly to selected topics from the world of business and economics including but not limited to Invention and Innovation, Development and Production, Sales and Sales Figures, Budgets and Investment, Costs and Profitability, Finance and financial results.
 
During interactive contact hours students also study selected sections of English grammar, including modality, impersonal constructions, verb complements, referring to graphs and figures, reported speech.
 
During classes, emphasis is placed on authentic and motivating learning material such as listening exercises (e.g. interviews with businessmen/women); understanding texts from English-language media related to the aforementioned subjects; oral exercises such as participating in discussions, reporting to a group, presenting to a group; writing exercises such as short essay writing, report writing and email writing.
