3. Course contents *

In the course modeule Policy Studies, students are introduced to the most important theoretical and methodological approaches in the field. After a short introduction containing answers to questions such as "What is (government) policy?" and "What is policy science?", students dissect, in a second part, policy into its elementary pieces. In a third part, the most important theoretical frameworks for analyzing policy are explained, using insights from public administration, economics, political science, psychology and sociology. Finally, the students are requested to apply this new knowledge to contemporary policy problem.
