3. Course contents *

This course provides an understanding of how firms gain and sustain competitive advantage in a global setting. It examines the strategic, organisational, and managerial challenges faced by companies operating in today's international markets. Globalisation and the wider context of international business will be analysed, as well as the basic theoretical concepts of international trade and investment. Strategic implications of internationalisation for companies will be comprehensively discussed. The course will outline future challenges and will also devote attention to the difficulties encountered when operating in diverse cultural, legal and political environments, with diverse international agents. The course is structured along the following topic areas:
