3. Course contents *

The asynchronous machine (especially the engine) will be treated with an emphasis on the three phase performance, but also the monophase induction engine will be treated. Furthermore, the synchronic machines will be dealt with, both the engine and the generator. However, special attention will be paid to the synchronic generator. The power-electronic inverters will be discussed with attention to the pulse-amplitude modulation and the pulse-width modulation.

In the lab DC: resistance measurement and no-load test, speed regulation.
In the lab asynchronous: no-load test, short-circuit test, load of the asynchronous engine.
In the lab alternator: no-load test, short-circuit test, load of the alternator.
