3. Course contents *

  1. The time domain: time continuous and time discrete signals and systems, the block diagram, the impulse response, the convolution.
  2. The continuous frequency domain: the transition from Fourier's series to Fourier's transformation by taking the period to infinity.  Application: the calculation of the frequency response.
  3. The complex frequency domain: the transition form Fourier's transformation to Laplace's transformation.  Application: the calculation of the transient response via inverse Laplace transformation.
  4. Modelling LTI systems, and reasoning about the usefulness of this model type
  5. Analyzing various systems through LTI approaches
