3. Course contents *

Leeronderzoek is a practical course in which students carry out sociological research. The precise research project varies but the full research cycle, fromtheory construction to reporting, is treated.

During Leeronderzoek I the following phases are usually conducted:

  • Data analysis. This may involve the quantitative analysis of survey data and the processing of qualitative research material (interview transcripts, image analysis).
  • Reporting. The students write a report on the problem, the design, implementation and analysis of their research. They also draw the necessary conclusions from their research. If the research is applied externally, the students are sometimes responsible for the publication of the results of the research (eg. At a press conference). The results of the leeronderzoek are also presented at the bachelorconference and poster session.
