3. Course contents *


LT and AVT: Examples of subdomains and genres that will be discussed are, for AVT: interlingual and intralingual subtitling, surtitling, audio-description, dubbing and voice-over. The classes devoted to LT cover, among other things: the role of interpretation and creativity in literary translaton,  re-translation and the different factors influencing the decision to translate certain books again, intertextuality and the translation of parody. The course also aims to provide some theoretical and scientific background for the practical courses in Specialized Translation (subtitling) and Media Accessibility.

Specialized Translation:
Different issues relevant to writing, editing and translation of domain specific texts are discussed, such as medical translation, legal translation, revision, translation norms, terminology, evaluation, writing, CAT, corpus, methods for translation description.
