In this course, the Normalized Systems theory, which was initially developed in the context of software architectures, is applied to modular structures at different levels in organizations.  In the first part, basic concepts of the Normalized Systems theory are introduced and generalized.  Next, these concepts are applied to the area that is traditionally called ‘Enterprise Architectures’, to organizational structures, to business processes and others.  Examples and cases are used to illustrate the approach.  The goal is to show how Normalized Systems theory can be relevant as a descriptive design theory to certain aspects of organizations.  In the second part, a case study is solved in groups to deepen the understanding of the concepts of the first part.
