3. Course contents *

The scope of this course is to familiarize students with modern challenges and methods in Computational Physics. The course first introduces theoretically the concepts of stochastic processes, Molecular Dynamics and regular and kinetic Monte Carlo simulations. In the more applied part of the course, particular physical systems are discussed – e.g. Computational Fluid Dynamics, Granular Material Simulation, Finite Difference/Element Modeling, Micromagnetic Simulation, with some notion of more biologically oriented problems as well, such as Protein Folding and Computational Neuroscience.
